ETERNAL LP [FILTHY LP005] Dedicated to Mike Honcho
ETERNAL LP is the fifth LP by Filthy Digital Recordings, a label founded by Mike Honcho back in late 2008. We lost Mike in June of last year and continue his dream and vision by releasing quality material. Mike had an intense belief in Dubstep and we keep it alive today by honoring him with this LP. Many top artists are coming together to salute our fallen friend and creator. Thank you all very much for all your support. FDR

Cinematic Drum'n'Bass Vol. 1 - DubKraft's 25th digi release
It's DubKraft's 25th digi release and they made great efforts to make it historical!
Altogether, the artists gathered here have been signed by most of the quality labels in d'n'b nowadays, and the tunes have been played by a plethora of massive dj's and radio stations, too many to mention. Established names and newcomers alike, the artists have made an exceptional effort to offer you the new perspectives of uptempo bass music, as it evolves lately from drum'n'bass.
Influences from most EDM genres and a full spectrum of emotions are used to make your experience unique each listening.
The concept and the tracklist are self-explainatory, all you have to do is to follow these:
Instructions:
1. Load compilation in player
2. Shuffle tracks
3. Move D. Ridgway's and Bulb's tracks as intro/outro. Or outro/intro.
4. Play
5. Close your eyes and watch the film. You can dance meanwhile.
6. Repeat steps 2-5 for a different film
Enjoy!

Taos: Tormented EP
!http://www.dnbrrecs.com/audio/releases/img/SECTION8010D.jpg!
Feel like killing someone today?
Taos has come forth and brought some hard stomping drum and bass tunes resembling the mentality of a psychopath. Plenty of edits and glitched out effects keep these tunes interesting and the bass frequencies in these tunes are made to get the the dance floor rumbling.
A prominent techno influence fused with the techstep style that made dark drum and bass so popular as a sub-genre over the last century.
Any lovers of Counterstrike, Cooh, Audio will surely love this release!

ANGIE REED, GINA DORIO, PASADENA PROJEKT FEAT. SOFFY O. - I DO ADORE
"PASADENA PROJEKT is duo made up of Mario Mentrup (formerly in the Noise-Rock band KNOCHEN=GIRL) and Niki Woernle. Vocals, guitars, flutes and loops combined with natural sounds, blurps, beeps, hammering and more, resulting popminiatures constructed with sound-experiments! It's in the vein of singer/songwriter stuff, but with a much wider spectrum! 9 tracks with a full playing-time of 52 minutes."
- x-mist mailorder 2009 about the album PASADENA PROJEKT-Hypersly (Fidel Bastro 60) in 2009
ICH BEGEHRE (i do adore) a feature experimental SciFi Road Movie by Mario Mentrup & Volker Sattel (Germany 2007) with Mario Mentrup, Pascale Schiller, Viviane Bartsch,Tamer Yigit, Claudia Basrawi a.o
Score by Pasadena Projekt feat. Soffy O. ( Toktok vs Soffy O: "Missy Queen") and Singer- guest Film appearances by Gina Dorio (Cobra Killer) and Angie Reed.
Marie Brassard, Acrice and ex- Collaborations with Robert Lepage wrote 2009 about ICH BEGEHRE when she showed it in a Programme with films by Werner Herzog, Walter Ruttmann and Christoph Schlingensief in Montreal:
"A man is being attacked on a road in the middle of nowhere. He must venture alone into a deserted region without water and food. So he starts walking into the emptiness. What seems nothing but an adventure at the beginning becomes a vicious cycle that he cannot escape. The mans thoughts and memories bump against his delusions and hallucinations, and he must fight against nature and demons. This experimental film suggests meditation and a dive into the silence of thoughts. Sometimes a monologue, sometimes an impromptu music session (performed to our great delight by beacons of the Berlin music scene) breaks the silence imposed by the images of the changing climate, the sunrises and sunsets, and the nightly solitude of this straying man."

Mobile site now online!
If you haven't already heard, we've recently launched the Digital-Tunes mobile store at "m.digital-tunes.net":http://m.digital-tunes.net . So if you're commuting to work, travelling, or anywhere without access to a regular computer, you can keep up to date with the latest tunes on your mobile device.
Have a look at the screencast at http://vimeo.com/12178544 for a quick overview of the main features of the mobile site, as seen on an iPhone. But it doesn't just work on iPhone, it should work on the majority of mobile devices, including Android phones and all phones using WebKit based browsers. The standard Nokia mobile browser seems to be working nicely also.
Right now we're still in beta phase while we test and tweek the final details, but everything seems to be working well on all the devices we've tested on so far, so head over and have a play!

Exit to Freedom
Are you into music driven by emotion such as ambient but raw dubstep or old school rolling drum and bass? Then you might want to check out the first release on Breakout Sounds (www.breakoutsounds.com). This first release features two slices of ear candy from Tom Swindal. Leading the way is ‘Waiting4’, emotionally dark and serene this is ambient dubstep at its best. The song opens with atmospheric sounds that evolve into an affair of raw bass and an ice cold riff supported by punchy drums and moody sounds. A lush middle arrangement takes the song down before switching back into its main sections. On the flip is ‘Promised Land’ with its title taken from a historic speech from Martin Luther King. The speech signals a drop into a smooth melody supported by sporadic break beats, cone shaking bass and interspersions of hot sounds flowing through a progressive arrangement. Both are out now on digital download and can be purchased from any of these links. Audio previews can be found in the players of all official websites along with videos.
Breakout Sounds is an independent record label born from a desire to create music without having to conform to sound or genre, it’s about escaping old routines, trends and statistics. Without restrictions or concerns about where music ends up allows true and pure creative experiments in sound. With this realization the most important aspect to focus on is having consistently high standards in whatever genre, sub genre, style or sound is created. For more information please visit the official website (www.breakoutsounds.com) where you can also find free downloads, previews and links to all profile sites. This will be constantly updated with more free stuff and content so be sure to check it regularly.
Tom Swindal is available for interviews, appearances and to DJ. For more information visit http://breakoutsounds.com/bookingsandlicensing/thedj/ or contact breakoutsounds@gmail.com

Skyence, The Next: Millions Of Miles / String Theory / Millions Of Miles (The Next Remix)
“Stoke Audio’s Nr. 5 contains 3 beautiful Wonk & Dubstep tracks by Skyence from Hamburg / Germany. Millions Of Miles lets you dive through a glitchy sound ambience with smart reece parts and a nice combination of chords and tight drums. String Theory is an impressive and dreamy Wonk tune with lovely synth sounds and a funky bassline you can’t resist! Last but not least, The Next’s Millions Of Miles Dubstep Remix is the perfect supplement for the whole release. “
Comments & Feedback :
BunZerO ( http://bunzer0.blogspot.com/) :
“Wow ! Dark and sexy, love the subtility !”
Robot Koch (Jahcoozi / BPitch Control / Robots don’t sleep) :
“Deep Tracks with nice textures! I like!”
Swede:Art (Tokyo Dawn Records / Error Broadcast) :
“Skyence kills it once again with his typical digital sound designs. the structures and sessions are definitely forward thinkin city music…massive EP!”
DFRNT ( http://www.sittingovation.com) :
“I think I mentioned Stoke Audio a while back, and I’m fairly sure I mentioned that they were looking very promising indeed – and now, as if to confirm my words with a seal of approval, I present to you STOKE005 – by Skyence.
The German producer has been on my radar for a long time now, and his output is consistently excellent. This release proves no different. His work is crystal clear, fusing serene bleeps and tight beats round a mutating bassline in “Millions Of Miles” – with The Next’s remix providing a more uptempo version with extra goodness. “String Theory” is a marginally more blissed out affair, but with some great beat-work and a real groove to get yourself stuck in.
STOKE005 is a fantastic look at what the label and Skyence can offer – I’d urge you to not only check this, but previous releases and also previous work by Skyence. His gleaming portfolio of tracks demonstrate a huge ability to produce over a number of speeds, and with a number of styles.”
I.D. (http://bassmusicblog.com) :
“Our friend Skyence is preparing to drop his next release on Stoke Audio in the next few weeks, and I thought it worthy of posting because, well, it’s fantastic. I’ve embedded the player below, but the track that’s really grabbed me is the third one, String Theory. If you remember his Bass Music Mix for us (check it out, the link is on the left there) you won’t be surprised to find that it’s full of soulful, dubstep and techno inspired grooves, engaging harmonies and absolutely thrilling sound design. Maybe you’re not the kind of person who gets thrilled by good sound design? Well, listen to this and think about your life. You could do worse than checking out the Stoke Audio soundcloud page too; primarily deep, cinematic dubstep grooves, some wicked stuff in there. Don’t forget also to head over to Skyence’s myspace page, listen to the track ‘Definition’ and email him every day until it comes out. Magical stuff.”

NSOK: Make Your Own God
The first album release for Filter and the first for the new signing NSOK (New Systems Of Knowledge) on the label. Heavily influenced by the sound collage madness of DJ Shadow and Prefuse 73, Make Your Own God has a unique way of dealing with the sensitive matters of politics and religion through constant sound evolution.
On the seven songs on the LP, NSOK exercise the qualities that define him as a unique type of a storyteller. He use his sounds as a brush and patiently paints the picture of the cynical, post-modern world we live in. The more you stare at it, the more you become aware of its depth and richness.
This is a true one-of-a-kind album and should immediately be listed among the essential releases of 2010.

Mannifest: En-lighten up.
En-Lighten Up Mannifested by Hal9million!
Check out this amazing first release that has something for everyone....
http://www.digital-tunes.net/releases/enlightenup
The first song sang by Laura Goucher (www.myspace.com/lauragoucher) is a love song written from the producer to his Swedish Girlfiend, who had been hangin out in diffrent countries for some time, excellent lyrics, great electro/dub production. The recording of the vocals is the highlight for me here so crystal it sounds like Laura is singing live into your ear!
The Meditation Song is a great piece of modern dub step, and actually great to meditate too.
More kids with guns an original cover of The Gorrilaz Kids with guns! Hal9million sings this track well and the lyrics cut to the heart of problems with today modern war and money loving world. Hal is certainly making the point of the album here without preaching.
I Get High Baybee - An electro swing classic! I love the way it switches from the original 1920's sound to modern electro/house beats and samples and then when you leaset expect it slides back to live pipes and viynl crackles, mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
In The Rafters - A track written by Laura Goucher about Hal9million AKA Mannifest's recording studio and jam room in a barn in Dorset. The room has a roof with rafters where you can often find musicians swinging from the roof, they have some fat parties there too!! Check out 7quidstudio and sorcera's mix using the same vocal recording on there soundcloud page:

Housware Lazytime remix - The story goes that the love song track one was unrequented and Hal wrote this dark track in a fit of rage! You can tell its truly dark and from the heart... using the same vocal samples as track one - top production.
So if you like the tunes why not show your appriciation and buy the album

Fell Dub EP
Two young Bristol producers present a fresh take on very best rhythms, colours and textures at the very centre of the current explosion in UK Dance music, from Dubstep and 2-Step, to Wonky and Dub-Techno. But with an ear for melody that is often sadly lacking in current Dance music, this is the first EP from the Blank Slate Records collective. The title track of the EP, Fell Dub, builds with lapping waves of cold-water punctated with ice chord shards, before the underwater explosion of bass rachets up the pressure. The remix injects a spasming rhythm in darker, sparser Bristol-style splintering the dub-chords further. The true gems however, are on the flip. Anger Divine features the breathtaking vocals of another Bristol resident, Andrew Mensah, with the original exploring a more spiritual, mediatitive take on the techstep sound which finally resolves itself into an early morning house groove. The remix, meanwhile, takes a jazzy, floating approach using more organic percussion and percolating arpeggiated synth lines for a more colourful take on the 2-step sound.

Ex10ShiN: If Music Were a Journey...
Any one into Autechre, Future Sound of London, Underworld, Mouse on Mars? Maybe symphonic metal like Hollenthon or Dimmu Borgir? Check out this new artist that has many similar traits. It is totally raw with not many reverbs and fades, but complex drums, basslines that rival the likes of Delerium and Front Line Assembly, and chords and synths that perfectly complement it all. Drummers should be enthused when chunks of the later tracks involve the rhythm of a drum set (it is gated remember). The album as a whole is part after part; not one song begins as it ends; and it proves to be a journey of musical exploration. Those into electronic music or even symphonic metal will be most impressed. Sit back and enjoy the journey!

EshOne: You Won't
Hailing from Albuquerque, repping for San Diego, EshOne pushes the fringes of the global bass music scene. Inspired by a desire to incorporate more energy into his music and not fall into the commonplace, inbred dubstep sound, EshOne is here with his first release for Chicago-based Dubfront Records. These three tracks apply heavy pressure and flex some forward-thought. "You Won't" builds from minimal to menacing. Mind the gritty reverbs of “Toast Burned.” And “Malbec” stews sick elements, culminating in a finished product far more dizzying and satisfying than the wine variety.
This release represents more than just a refreshing breath in the genre. EshOne says he wants to contribute to the evolution of the dubstep producer as a receptive artist, feeding off of the crowd’s energy and throwing back juicy basslines...sculpting sets with off-kilter filth that gets bodies moving. EsOne channels his boredom with the preset wobble cru into imagining what he’d rather hear: Lo-fi, dirty, techy vibes echoing throughout the club.
Enjoy...LOUDLY.

Ben Grunnell: Monomo (C:001)
With the changing of the seasons imminent, and our somewhat unpredictable winter so far, the synths have come out to play on Ben Grunnell's inaugural release on newly founded label 'Consonance Recordings'. 'Monomo' is a three track release, treading a path which bends itself through bursts of warmth and depth, melancholy grooves and a dubby deepness, all mirroring the change of light and warmth the transition from summer to winter brings.
First up is 'Torsensaft', opening affairs with a warm kick and bubbly bass, whilst light percussion gives flavour throughout. Before long, a male voice begins to pine of 'soul', and the track settles into it's rhythm, and a sound of real richness. A growing synth line develops into a warm counter-play of two sets of pads, whilst light snares and airy hats give the track a shimmer which is apparent in it's spacious composition, and somewhat minimal arrangement. The warmth emanating from this track serves as a fine opening for the EP, and a melancholy reflection of summer reminisces
Sitting plumply in the middle, the title track 'Monomo' brings the echo of autumn's inevitability. The track carries forward the percussion of 'Torsensaft', but underpinning is a stark drone of a bass line, which plays well with deep pitched toms. A line of pads again develops, but this time it seems like they are more drifting through you, as opposed to warming you up. Smooth gushes of wind precede bass drops, and you really feel like wrapping something around you to keep what little warmth remains inside. Texturally, there are a careful selection of sounds here, each sound apparent on it's own but counter-pointing well with those around it.
Bringing affairs to a close is 'Toit', which is a far cry from the opening warmth and depth of 'Torsensaft'. If "Monomo' sounds like the inevitable shuffle of hi-hats towards winter, then the closing track sounds more like you have not only arrived in winter, but travelled to somewhere that has been devoid of anything resembling sunshine for an age. A morphed synth trails throughout, devoid of the depth of the previous tracks, but none the less effective towards it's intent. With the introduction of a bass line that sounds like you may have stumbled into a quagmire, the echoes of clicks and the synth line's twisted delays are allowed full room to rattle along in earnest. Without a doubt the most 'minimal' of the bunch, 'Toit' ends the release on a sparse note, but this only goes to highlight the depth and variation of tone on the release.
It's always difficult to form any conclusions after an artists debut release, coinciding as the inaugural Label EP, but perhaps this has allowed a freedom of creativity and expression, which will hopefully continue. Digital-Tunes.com - Releases

Psytrance artists go it alone online
With the new distribution channels online it is becoming much easier to release new music without going through a record label. Not that the function of the record label is extinct, but the barriers of not being able to release music without a contract are no longer there.

Radical Toxic Alotment for Free
Free Radical Records 4th consecutive release is a compilation titled 'Toxic Allotment'. There is a no-nonsense approach to psychedelic trance music.
Most tracks run at seriously high speeds with signature fast baselines, often suffering from a lack of width and depth. The sounds are fairly familiar with some new ideas, mostly sticking to tried-and-tested formulas.
The music feels a little

The Bestiary from Dark Prisma
The Argentinian outfit Dark Prisma records presents The Bestiary, a dark and sinister tale of psytrance. It features a fusion of Argentinian, Mexican, American and Serbian artists.
There are some very obvious influences by the Russian psytrance movement here and most artists adhere to this style. Deep but also chaotic. Psychedelic but confusing.
Some Frantic Noise tracks touch on the randomness

Dr. Hoffman on Geomagnetic TV
For the die-hard psytrance traditionalists Geomagnetic TV is bringing you the debut album of Dr. Hoffman, Ride On. This is a homage to psychedelia from the 90s with the fractal structures and acid flavor some are used to.
