02/08/2010 Various Artists: Internalization Of Mässy
"The Internalization of Mässy" includes 13 previously unreleased tracks and a remix. It's a compilation that gives us a worldwide vision of skweee at the moment. It brings all the different ways of skweee together in a unique way. The tracks are tied together with the feeling they share, beyond the similarites found in technic or rhythm. These musicians do not underestimate their listeners. Everything you hear is created without trying to give the listeners what they think they want – instead of that the record offers a possibility to use one's whole capacity of receiving. As a phenomenon, Skweee has grown steadily and reached wider audiences, new labels are popping out, more promising artists infuencing the whole feld of eletronic music. In terms of music, getting global has made Skweee more diverse. You can also hear how these artists take ideas from eachother and then develope it in different directions. You can feel the stadionsize synthesis of Mother North, Drum machinery of Jyrkkä Pajulaakso and Spartan Lovers rugged touch, which has that something to turn on every living creature. Some of these tracks are easier to get into, but there's stuff you can listen to on and on, repeating for days, and still fnd yourself catching new ways of thinking about that musical piece. There's enough texture to get you hooked and enough interesting stuff to fnd beyond that, to keep you hooked. This Mässy has the ability to bring hating neighbours together and give them the possibility to forgive and forget, and most important, share it's positive vibe and ride the rhythm like never before.    02/08/2010 OoGuN: Drony Stylee brings Dubhall to digital-tunes
Drunk Elephant Sound has just released a couple of new tracks by OoGuN in a style they're calling Dubhall - a fusion of dancehall-style riddims with dubstep-style bassweight. Both tunes have been mastered and tested extensively for dancehall destruction, but what's dubhall all about? Here's what OoGuN said: "I've always been interested in the more "dub" element of dubstep, but felt that it would be great to find a way of upping the energy of the riddims I was playing. Of course, making stepper's style dubstep was one way to go, but I found that by using dancehall style riddims and taking the tempo to 95-96bpm, these tunes automatically come with a swing which to me is much better than robotic, super-quantised 4/4 or halfstep". The two tracks are the first of a series of tunes in the same style - with the next release already mastered and ready to go. Check out "Stylee" and "Drony Dubhall" in this release and remember - Drunk Elephant Sound is all about bass that would knock the very bllcks off a drunk elephant!

02/07/2010 iBenji: Mr. Bubbles / Kill Me
Benji brings forth a new release showcasing his masterful oscillation of dubstep wobble bass. Two moody and step-friendly tunes that are tried and tested on the dance floor. For the video game lovers -- Mr. Bubbles contains some clean usage of 'Bioshock 2' samples and the b-side track, 'Kill Me' features samples from Quake 2.

   02/07/2010 Cinematic Drum'n'Bass Vol. 1 - DubKraft's 25th digi release
It's DubKraft's 25th digi release and they made great efforts to make it historical! Altogether, the artists gathered here have been signed by most of the quality labels in d'n'b nowadays, and the tunes have been played by a plethora of massive dj's and radio stations, too many to mention. Established names and newcomers alike, the artists have made an exceptional effort to offer you the new perspectives of uptempo bass music, as it evolves lately from drum'n'bass. Influences from most EDM genres and a full spectrum of emotions are used to make your experience unique each listening. The concept and the tracklist are self-explainatory, all you have to do is to follow these: Instructions: 1. Load compilation in player 2. Shuffle tracks 3. Move D. Ridgway's and Bulb's tracks as intro/outro. Or outro/intro. 4. Play 5. Close your eyes and watch the film. You can dance meanwhile. 6. Repeat steps 2-5 for a different film Enjoy!

   02/07/2010 Taos: Tormented EP
!http://www.dnbrrecs.com/audio/releases/img/SECTION8010D.jpg! Feel like killing someone today? Taos has come forth and brought some hard stomping drum and bass tunes resembling the mentality of a psychopath. Plenty of edits and glitched out effects keep these tunes interesting and the bass frequencies in these tunes are made to get the the dance floor rumbling. A prominent techno influence fused with the techstep style that made dark drum and bass so popular as a sub-genre over the last century. Any lovers of Counterstrike, Cooh, Audio will surely love this release!

02/07/2010 ANGIE REED, GINA DORIO, PASADENA PROJEKT FEAT. SOFFY O. - I DO ADORE
"PASADENA PROJEKT is duo made up of Mario Mentrup (formerly in the Noise-Rock band KNOCHEN=GIRL) and Niki Woernle. Vocals, guitars, flutes and loops combined with natural sounds, blurps, beeps, hammering and more, resulting popminiatures constructed with sound-experiments! It's in the vein of singer/songwriter stuff, but with a much wider spectrum! 9 tracks with a full playing-time of 52 minutes." - x-mist mailorder 2009 about the album PASADENA PROJEKT-Hypersly (Fidel Bastro 60) in 2009 ICH BEGEHRE (i do adore) a feature experimental SciFi Road Movie by Mario Mentrup & Volker Sattel (Germany 2007) with Mario Mentrup, Pascale Schiller, Viviane Bartsch,Tamer Yigit, Claudia Basrawi a.o Score by Pasadena Projekt feat. Soffy O. ( Toktok vs Soffy O: "Missy Queen") and Singer- guest Film appearances by Gina Dorio (Cobra Killer) and Angie Reed. Marie Brassard, Acrice and ex- Collaborations with Robert Lepage wrote 2009 about ICH BEGEHRE when she showed it in a Programme with films by Werner Herzog, Walter Ruttmann and Christoph Schlingensief in Montreal: "A man is being attacked on a road in the middle of nowhere. He must venture alone into a deserted region without water and food. So he starts walking into the emptiness. What seems nothing but an adventure at the beginning becomes a vicious cycle that he cannot escape. The mans thoughts and memories bump against his delusions and hallucinations, and he must fight against nature and demons. This experimental film suggests meditation and a dive into the silence of thoughts. Sometimes a monologue, sometimes an impromptu music session (performed to our great delight by beacons of the Berlin music scene) breaks the silence imposed by the images of the changing climate, the sunrises and sunsets, and the nightly solitude of this straying man."

PsyTranceMusic.com - News

07/05/2010 Psytrance artists go it alone online
With the new distribution channels online it is becoming much easier to release new music without going through a record label. Not that the function of the record label is extinct, but the barriers of not being able to release music without a contract are no longer there. So, with direct access to iTunes and other digital download shops Phacelift has a new 2010 release titled Rythm Selector. It

25/10/2009 Mechanik sound drowns in a Psycho Lab
Mechanik Records label manager, Insanix and Gill Beraud aka Hyper Frequencies present the second part of the 'Psycho Laboratory' compilation. They are doing a great job at combining a series of known players of their genre. The productions are refined and even bands like Neuromotor have come a long way in their studios. The best tracks here include 'Nightwalk' from Decerto with a brilliant

21/10/2009 Radical Toxic Alotment for Free
Free Radical Records 4th consecutive release is a compilation titled 'Toxic Allotment'. There is a no-nonsense approach to psychedelic trance music. Most tracks run at seriously high speeds with signature fast baselines, often suffering from a lack of width and depth. The sounds are fairly familiar with some new ideas, mostly sticking to tried-and-tested formulas. The music feels a little

17/10/2009 Faders gives psychedelic Genesis for Utopia
Compiled by Faders, Utopia Records delivers 'Genesis', a psychedelic trance compilation with the latest work from established and new names. The best tracks are delivered by new entrant Prospect with 'Break the Point', Audiotec vs Faders with 'World of Phantasy'. InterSys stand out with their production, melodies and structure of 'U Just Dance'. Delivers on all fronts for the dancefloor, this

12/10/2009 New S.U.N. Project Remixes II out
You cannot look away when a pool of major artists get together to celebrate S.U.N. Project, one of the pioneers of guitar-filled psytrance when they are back with a compilation of remixes from some of their most famous tracks of all time. Remixes II features many international trance acts, from the likes of Atomic Pulse, Bad Boys (Slider), DNA, Fatali, Freak Show, Insomnia, Neelix, Sesto Sento

11/10/2009 The Bestiary from Dark Prisma
The Argentinian outfit Dark Prisma records presents The Bestiary, a dark and sinister tale of psytrance. It features a fusion of Argentinian, Mexican, American and Serbian artists. There are some very obvious influences by the Russian psytrance movement here and most artists adhere to this style. Deep but also chaotic. Psychedelic but confusing. Some Frantic Noise tracks touch on the randomness

08/10/2009 Spun records spins Back 2 the Future
Spun records pulls out the big guns with their latest compilation Back 2 The Future. The who's who of the hard psytrance scene is here. To begin we have Logic Bomb smashing their way in with Earth Orbit (Soundaholic remix). Reminds a little of Etnica but develops in a strong and militant beat with deep floating sounds that implode along the way. GMS fight it out with Dr. Hoffman (read previous

03/10/2009 Dr. Hoffman on Geomagnetic TV
For the die-hard psytrance traditionalists Geomagnetic TV is bringing you the debut album of Dr. Hoffman, Ride On. This is a homage to psychedelia from the 90s with the fractal structures and acid flavor some are used to. There is no holding back from the outset with Ride On getting to the point and sticking with it. The next two tracks follow up with strong kick and bass lines, first Drop Out

27/09/2009 Intelligent Monkey says Chandra Natya
Another psytrance gem by brand new Italy based Intelligent Monkey Records label of DJ PsySari, from Turkey titled Chandra Natya or 'Moon Dance'. There is a selection of tracks heavily influenced by the Russian trance scene. Most productions are acceptable, somehow missing some of the shine of the larger studios. The psychedelic element is strong across the compilation and the Nord lead sounds
